In this workshop, we will examine hit songs past and present and why they work. Learn about various ways to structure your song, which tense is best to use, lyric content, rhyme, melody, meter, and the hook. I can show you how to find inspiration to write songs from everyday things and unlock ideas for writing and get them on paper. We will examine several different styles of music including pop, rock, disco, country, etc, and pinpoint what they all have in common. Then we transfer that knowledge to the songs you have brought along and apply the strategies to them.
Be prepared to share your songs with others.
